The Sad face and line displayed on your meter is indicating that the meter is in tamper mode.
Tamper mode is activated when the meter has been disconnected from power - this can be due to load shedding or if the meter was disconnected to be replaced or repaired.
To reset the meter a Tamper Token must be entered. Please ask the STss Call Centre Agent for the Tamper Token.
The STss Call Centre Agent will review your account to ascertain why the meter is in tamper mode. If the team can confirm that the meter has not been tampered with, a Tamper Token will be generated by the STss Call Centre Supervisor. Enter this token on the meter keypad.
If the meter appears to have been tampered with, a technician will be dispatched to check the meter.
